Cut costs with Homemade Christmas decorations

There are many ways in which you can spend less around Christmas and one of the best ways to save money is by making your own Christmas decorations. We’re not just talking about the paper rings that you made when you were in primary school; we’re talking about nice looking for professional Christmas decorations. Here are some tips to give you a few ideas:

Bow Wreath

To make a sparkly bow reef, you’ll need a cheap straw reef, plenty of cheap plastic bows in multiple colours and some hot glue. All you do is glue the bows to the reef and ensure al of the straw material is coloured, then simply hang on the living room door as a warm festive welcome for guests.

Magazine Christmas tree

Simply fold each of the magazine’s pages into triangles, pulling the top right corner of the page down. Then you should eventually end up with a tree design all the way round. Then it’s time to spray on the adhesive and sprinkle the glitter on top. It’s that easy.

Felt Mistletoe

This one’s fun if you have a creative edge. Simply draw out mistletoe leaves combining different colours of felt. Use hot glue to put the mistletoe leaves together and finish with a red ribbon on top. It will look great hanging from the ceiling and you can even add pearl embellishments for an extra Christmas feel.

If you’d rather not make your own decorations but you still want to save money, there are plenty of used Christmas decorations, which you can buy online. Many people collect too many decorations and look to sell them on auction sites at Christmas time.
