Often we get bogged down trying to find the best means to furnish our homes. We then end up with more things that we really use (or need) and can fall into the trap of clutter. That in itself is a call to action to execute the famous phrase “less is more”.
It may be argued that the minimalist approach should be for modern designed homes. It is not. You can apply that approach to any home of any size. To be honest, the minimal approach will create an even bigger perception of space, clarity, peace and relaxation within your home environment.
Using neutral colours as a foundation (white, grey, black, beige) you can then provide accent colours for specific rooms in relation to the furnishings and fixtures. This is all while not feeling like you are living in clutter and chaos. You may want to consider re-purposing some of your old furniture, looking at more useful adaptation that will provide you with storage all while maintaining the minimal theme.
